Baked with Passion, Served with Love
From a home kitchen in Bloomingdale, Illinois to one of the Chicago suburbs' most beloved dessert caterers — this is the story of Sara's Sweet Shop.

A Kitchen Passion Turned Community Staple
Sara's Sweet Shop was born in 2019 out of a small home kitchen in Bloomingdale, IL, where Sara spent years perfecting recipes handed down through her family. What started as weekend batches of macarons and cake jars for friends quickly outgrew the kitchen counter — and a business was born.
Word spread fast across Bloomingdale and into neighboring Glendale Heights, Carol Stream, and Schaumburg. Families began requesting custom cakes for birthdays, cookie trays for corporate offices, and full sweet tables for weddings. Within a year, Sara had transitioned to a full catering operation with a dedicated production kitchen and a growing team of pastry artisans.
Today, Sara's Sweet Shop serves events of every size across the greater Chicago suburbs — from intimate baby showers to elegant weddings with hundreds of guests. Every recipe still carries the warmth of that original Bloomingdale kitchen, and every order is treated as if it's being made for family.
We believe desserts are more than the final course — they are the memories guests take home. That belief drives everything we do, from the first consultation call to the moment your sweet table is styled and ready to delight.
Our Values
Three principles guide every decision we make — from sourcing ingredients to styling a sweet table.
Quality Ingredients
We source premium ingredients, choosing local farms and artisan suppliers whenever possible. Every component — from imported Madagascar vanilla to locally-milled flour — is selected with care to ensure the finest flavor in every bite.
Handcrafted with Care
No shortcuts, no mass production. Every item leaves our kitchen fresh, made to order with the same attention to detail whether we are preparing a single birthday cake or a full sweet table for 300 guests.
Community First
Bloomingdale and the surrounding Chicago suburbs are home, not just a market. We are proud to be part of the community — sponsoring local school events, partnering with neighborhood venues, and celebrating milestones alongside our neighbors.
